Abbiola Ballah (she/her) is an Equity & Inclusion Consultant, Mentor & Speaker, and Founder of Phern Education Studios. She founded Phern Education Studios to be a catalyst for change in the Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) space by prioritizing not just learning but taking action.
Originally from Trinidad and Tobago, Abbiola has lived internationally in Japan, the USA, and Belize for 20+ years and worked as an educator and program designer for 18+ years, giving her a unique lens through which she approaches equity and inclusion.
Abbiola provides Equity & Inclusion coaching and consulting services to values driven professionals, leaders and organizations who work beyond borders making an impact. She is also currently a part of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Database of DEI Practitioners.
Abbiola is a dynamic facilitator and speaker who has worked with organizations in the education publishing, philanthropy, social impact and high education space just to name a few.
She has been featured on several podcasts and spoken at conferences and summits including the CMX Summit: Thrive, Button 2023 and the Yellow Co. Conference.
She holds two Master’s degrees in International Education Management from Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey, Applied Linguistics & TESOL from the University of Leicester in the UK as well as a BA Honors in Communication Arts from St. Francis College, New York. She is an avid reader, travel nerd, theatre buff, and Japanese karaoke queen.
